You are in computer school – get your head up.
What do you see? By whom are you surrounded?
If you look closely, most people are men – where are the women?!
It is no secret that programming is considered a “men job”, but is it really that way?

Girl Power!

In the beginning of human age, there is no doubt men were considered superior, but as time goes by men and women get more and more equal. So why are there few women in the programming field? Well, that is because programming and computer are taken as a men field. Fortunately, woman kick a$$ and starting to blend in the field as well!

Education

The best way to get women to know the field of computer is through education. I am so glad to say that I know so many programs that help and reach out for women so that they can get into the field. All these efforts at a young age can really make the difference and if they are exposed to it and get familiar with this world, as such a young age, then maybe if they like it, they will join the field. Although there are many pro-women programs out there, I think we can do better and get even more. I must say that I have particaped in pro-women program as a mentor and it was such a great honor! I learnd as much as I’ve teached

Jobs

I guess we already see the fruits of our education seeds. Today we see many women in tech companies in various jobs – from the smallest programmers to the biggest CEOs. I have even heard about companies that most of the team are females, and I also heard about ones where all of the team are females – amazing! Women today are really taking the lead in all that is related to the computer filed

So what does the future hold?

I know that for now, we have no choice but to give women pro-women programs so that they can fit faster than men but I really do hope that in the near future we will be as equal as we can get in the education field and we won’t need to have all these pro-something programs – we can all just study together and get the best out of both of each other!
